My name is Adonis Bdaywi, and I am a line producer & production manager based in Dubai.
There is no inspirational story behind my journey into the illustrious world of production. After years of experience in technical and creative roles within the video production industry, including cinematography, videography, lighting, sound; as well as working on a wide range of production scales, I made the transition to the production department, where I was able to draw on my experience to tackle projects from start to finish.
While it was a big shift from what I was used to doing on a set, it was a journey into “the other side”; taking what I knew from my previous experience and applying it to producing. I appreciated the order and organization that came with the job and thrived on making everyone else’s job easier through this process; with a keen eye for all the things that I had looked for in a production to streamline a project.
From corporate headshots to large-budget TVCs, every production is unique in its own way. With this in mind, I’ve had the pleasure of meeting and working with people from all walks of life, each that bring their own flare to every project. Armed with a network comprised of the best crews and vendors, every aspect of the production is catered to the individual needs of the brief.
In recent years, I have also been tasked with line producing projects and campaigns; doing so on projects with an upwards of AED500,000 dirham budgets as well as crews north of 50 people.
I have also been trusted with servicing and producing local legs of international projects, including permitting, casting, transportation, equipment hire and more. My recent work has allowed me to work closely with local fixers in a number of countries, including successful productions across multiple cities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Rwanda as well as Tanzania/Zanzibar.
In my capacity as a Line Producer specializing in television and digital commercials, I seamlessly blend financial acumen with a keen eye for creative project management, ensuring the effective realization of compelling visual narratives. Beyond precise budgeting, I actively contribute to the creative development process, collaborating closely with creative teams to align productions with the unique objectives and aesthetics of television and digital advertising.
This involves in-depth research into market trends, audience preferences, and creative innovations, laying the foundation for visually impactful commercials. A key aspect of my role involves identifying potential partners and collaborators, establishing synergistic relationships to enhance both creative and logistical elements of each project. From scouting locations that resonate with target audiences to managing transportation logistics and securing partnerships with relevant businesses, I orchestrate a seamless integration of creative vision and strategic execution.
Talent acquisition is another focus, where I work closely with the client and agency as well as casting directors and talent agencies to select actors who authentically embody the brand and message of the commercial.
Throughout the production process, I proactively address challenges, applying a risk-mitigation mindset to ensure a smooth and successful outcome. From the initial stages of creative ideation to the final touches in post-production, I remain dedicated to delivering visually compelling and strategically effective television and digital commercials. Regular updates to executive stakeholders on project status, budget adherence, and innovative solutions to emerging challenges underscore my commitment to exceeding expectations in the dynamic world of advertising.
